We started the journey along the Murray River in Barmera at the Lake Bonney. The camping there is on a beautiful spot right at the lake with a spectacular view – especially the sunset was breathtaking. We also had an unexpected visit from a baby possum that fell off the tree. We first thought it was dead as it fell from at least 10 meters hight. Then it recovered quickly and run back to the tree where his mother was already searching for him. An old lady that lives on the camping told us that sometimes the mothers throw their weakest babies out of the nest in order to be able to feed at least the other babies, if the food gathering gets difficult due to drought. But fortunately, this little baby possum found its way back into mummies arms and it looked as if both were happy to be together again.
