Riverland – along the Murray River

The Murray river is with 2570 km the longest river in Australia and for a long time it was a very important way of transport to Australias inland. In 1853 the first Paddle Steamer started its service and until the railway was built everything was shipped on the river. Today, these Paddle Steamers are a big tourist attraction and can be visited as a Museum or you can book river cruises with some of them.
